East Galliford is a charming, traditional Exmoor holiday cottage, ideally located in the exceptionally pretty village of Winsford deep in the heart of Exmoor National Park. South facing, the cottage is comfortable, well equipped and enjoys an attractive garden with wonderful views of the village, farmland and wooded hillsides of the Exe Valley beyond. It is a minute's walk from the centre of the village that itself boasts no less than eight bridges over the river Exe and Winn Brook in the middle of the village and is well provided for with a Post Office General stores, a good pub, tea shop and restaurant.  From here there is unsurpassed walking directly from the cottage, ideal to explore the clear sparkling rivers winding amongst the deep wooded combes or climb up onto the wild open heather-clad moorland and spot the famous Exmoor ponies and red deer. There is excellent riding on open moorland with horses available for hire and fishing on 3 local reservoirs or on the Exe and Barle Rivers (licences available from the Post Office). This is a glorious part of the world, unspoilt and just begging to be explored.
